Mahia Hunt

The Mahia Hunt was established in 1900, the same year the New Zealand Hunts’ Association was founded. Colours were issued to Mahia Hunt in 1904 – Old Gold collar on a green coat. As of 1969, Mahia’s boundary is from Kaiwaka in the south, to Waerenga-o-kuri in the north, and inland as far as Ruakituri. This Hunt has no permanent Kennel, hounds being housed on a member’s property during working-up and for local meets, and travelled by the week from area to area. The Hunt meets on Saturdays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays during the season.
